Tucked into the Live Oak neighborhood of Santa Cruz, just a mile from the beach and a mile from 41st Avenue, Dynomite Farm is a small organic urban flower farm and homestead where the beds overflow with color. Here, you’re invited to wander through rows of blooms, breathe in the fresh ocean air, and create a bouquet that’s entirely your own.

In spring, the garden is alive with the jewel tones of ranunculus, the towering spires of snapdragons, and the romantic charm of roses. By midsummer, the fields shift to a dazzling display of dahlias in every shape and shade, bright-faced black-eyed Susans, and a joyful mix of wildflowers that carry us into fall. While the dahlias don’t have fragrance, their beauty more than makes up for it, offering a rainbow of colors at your fingertips.

What to Expect

Private 90-Minute U-Cut Experiences
Each U-Cut Experience is reserved just for you (or your group), so you’ll have the garden all to yourself. Cutting times begin at 9:00 AM, with the last appointment at 4:00 PM.
No Experience Necessary
Whether you’ve cut flowers a hundred times or never held snips before, we’ll walk you through everything — from how to choose stems to the best way to keep them fresh.
What We Provide
We supply the snips, a sturdy flower field container for gathering your stems, and plenty of friendly guidance.
What to Bring
Please bring a vase or bucket for transporting your flowers home. We’ll fill it with fresh water here before you leave. A hat, sunscreen, and drinking water are also good ideas.
