These corms come straight from our raised beds. In November 2024 we planted Bridal Mix and Porcelaine ranunculus, and every year since we have dug the corms, saved them and replanted them, simply enjoying whatever colors came up. This lot is the third generation grown here at Dynomite Farm.
Our ranunculus beds are full of color, and these corms are a true mixed bag. Expect mostly whites and pinks, with blush, coral and peach, along with a few other colors from our beds, such as yellow and orange. They are not sorted or labeled, so every lot is a little different.
If you are planning around a single color, such as an all-white bridal palette, this mix is not the right fit. If you love a garden that surprises you each spring, it is.
When to plant
- Warm climates (USDA zones 8 to 10): plant in October or November for spring blooms.
- Moderate climates (zone 7): plant in fall with frost protection, such as a low tunnel or hoop house, or in late winter to early spring (February to March).
- Cold climates (zone 6b and below): plant in early spring (March or April) after the danger of hard frost has passed, or start them indoors.
Until planting, store your corms dry, in a cool, dark place.
How to plant
Soak the corms in room-temperature water for 3 to 4 hours, until they plump up. Plant them claws down, about 2 inches deep and 6 inches apart, in well-drained soil and full sun.
Shipping
Each lot contains 20 corms. Orders ship by USPS within 3 to 5 days.
