La Luna is a giant informal decorative with blooms around 10 inches across in soft lemon yellow, splashed with brighter yellow throughout. The huge, glowing flowers are a showstopper in the late-season garden.
It is a sport of Swan Island’s Harvest Moonlight, discovered and introduced by Swan Island Dahlias in 2012, and shares its parent’s vigorous habit. Plants reach 4 to 5 feet on tall, strong stems and bloom later in the season, so give them a stake. Every La Luna tuber we ship is grown, hand-divided and inspected at division here at Dynomite Farm in Santa Cruz.
