Dynomite Farm is an organic flower farm Santa Cruz residents and visitors book for private U-Cut experiences — and like any small farm, there is a lot happening behind the scenes to make each visit possible.
This week, some of that behind-the-scenes work happened at a laptop instead of in the field. We rebuilt the Dynomite Farm website from the ground up, and we want to share a little of what that process looked like and why it matters for the farm.
Why This Organic Flower Farm Santa Cruz Built a New Website
Our old site had become difficult to navigate over time. Visitors told us it was confusing, and they were right. For a farm that runs entirely on online reservations, a website that works beautifully is not optional — it is essential.
Read our full guide to flower picking in Santa Cruz to see what the booking experience looks like from the visitor’s side.
So we made the decision to rebuild from scratch rather than migrate the problems forward. It meant sitting behind the laptop for days instead of being out in the field. It meant reimagining every page, every product, every booking flow.
It was the right call.
This organic flower farm Santa Cruz families and flower lovers visit is appointment-only by design. Every reservation, every membership, every dahlia tuber order flows through the website. Getting it right means every visitor gets a smooth, beautiful experience from the moment they first land on the page to the moment they walk through the farm gate.
What We Built and Why It Matters
The new Dynomite Farm site is built around one goal: making it easy to visit this organic flower farm Santa Cruz has been home to for several seasons.
The booking flow is simpler. The membership pages are clearer. The tuber shop is easier to navigate. And the journal — where you are reading this right now — is where we will keep sharing what is happening on the farm throughout the season.
We also rebuilt the email confirmation system, the member portal, and the calendar. When you book a U-Cut Flower Experience, you will receive a clear confirmation with everything you need. When you join as a member, your account works the way it should.
Behind every good farm experience is a system that runs quietly in the background. That is what we built.
What Has Not Changed at This Organic Flower Farm Santa Cruz
The website is new. The farm is the same. Learn more about what we grow and when to visit in our guide to Santa Cruz dahlias — 500+ plants, 100+ varieties, July through October.
We still grow dahlias, ranunculus, and seasonal flowers across 19 organic raised beds. We still welcome one private party at a time, by appointment only. We still grow without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. And we still believe that a morning spent cutting flowers on a small farm in Santa Cruz is one of the most restorative things a person can do.
The new site exists to make it easier for you to get here. That is its only job.
